Family: Rodney

Kristi Hardin (Tim), Jason (Staci), Blake (Kayleigh) – They are my life’s work and great joy!

Favorite Food: Anything my husband prepares – he’s a fabulous gourmet chef!

A book that has inspired you and why: Being a voracious reader, I continually have a rotation of 5 or 6 books I am reading at any given time. So, choosing one is like choosing which one of my children is my favorite! Here are my categories:

On focus and intentional living: The Power of One Thing - Randy Carlson

On leadership: The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham – a compelling synopsis of this humble, brilliant servant of God who has never forgotten where he came from. The integrity, clarity and leadership skills of this man whom God has used to literally impact the world are carefully analyzed

with awe.

On attitude and full-out devotion to Christ: Ruth Bell Graham - anything written by her. I admire her wholehearted abandon to God, her poetry and candid honesty about life and faith, her quick-wit and humor, her choice for joy and gratitude.

On challenging status quo Christianity: Crazy Love – Francis Chan

On purpose in life: You Were Made for More: the Life God Wants You to Have – Jim Cymbala Encouragement to seek how God wants to uniquely use you based on how He has gifted you and your life experiences. No pain is wasted. God will use your pain to become your platform to share

Him.

Verse that has been significant for you: 'For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11

A truth about God that amazes you: What pure love. Gets me in the gut every time! Here is the lifestyle goal before me: ‘Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death…’

He lived and died the same: selfless and obedient. So that is my assignment: Follow His pattern: selfless and obedient. Whew! Tall order!

Favorite place you’ve lived/visited: Loved San Diego! But, hey, I’m a Southern girl – so the utter charm of Charleston, SC woos me every time! If I have to choose: beach or mountains – give me beach any day!

Reason you love Church@Main: Authentic, real community of Christ followers who are wholeheartedly abandoning ourselves to God with passion. We are a broken people before God who recognize our need for Him. Church @ Main is a place where you are welcome, wanted, and valued! Two comments surface continually when guests visit for the first time: I have never experienced such love – I have never seen such joy! Thank you, God! Those are the first two evidences of the Spirit at work!

If everyone would just... be grateful and kind... the world would be a better place.

Gratitude and kindness are a big deal at our house! When you give respect, you get respect. A heart of gratitude is everything!

Something you’ve yet to do that you really want to do: Dance the tango!

Favorite Quotes:

Fear not tomorrow: God is already there!

Write your disappointments in sand;

Carve your blessings in stone.

Be yourself: Everyone else is taken!

The secret of contentment:

Desire less, give more.
