#1 - Practical  Bible Teaching

The first responsibility of the church and its Pastors and Teachers is to faithfully teach and preach the word of God. This is how the Body grows!

Matt. 28:20  “…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Acts 2:42      “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching…

Acts 5:42      “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.”

I Cor. 1:21       “…God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.”

II Tim. 4:1-5   “…I give you this charge: Preach the Word; ... For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather  around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

#2 - Passionate Prayer

Prayer has always been and will always be a primary focus of Church@Main. We want people in this community to know that this church believes in the power of prayer. If Church@Main is to experience the power of God on its ministries, it will be a direct result of prayer.

Jeremiah 33:3  “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

          I Thess. 5:17     “pray continually;”

Acts 2:42          “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

#3 - Spirit Led Worship

A worshipping church is a living church.

Psalm 147:1  “Praise the Lord.  How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him.

Acts 2:46-47  “they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.”

#4 - Evangelism, Discipleship & Missions

Jesus told us to “GO and make disciples!"

This means taking the gospel to all people, by all biblical means possible.

Matt. 28:19-20  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

#5 - A Place of Grace

Church@Main will ALWAYS be a place of grace

When God saves us, He takes us right where we are – warts and all – and begins a redeeming work of grace in our life. We foster an attitude of acceptance for ALL people, regardless of one’s past, background, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and social sub-culture. We all need grace – just as Christ has shown to us.

Luke 6:37    “Do not Judge, and you will not be judged.  Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.  Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Eph. 2:8-9  “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Gal. 6:14    “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”
